Supporting Our Partner, Obras Sociales

The AMD3 Foundation is supporting its Operation Walk Pittsburgh partner hospital, Obras Sociales, with a $5,000 donation to help support the salaries of the OR and floor staff during the difficult COVID-19 shutdown faced by their hospital.

The hospital is set up almost exclusively to handle surgical mission groups and hosts these groups 50 out of 52 weeks per year, many of which will be canceled. The fees paid by these groups help fund the hospital clinics and pay staff salaries.

In the wake of cancellations and the spread of the virus, all hospital OR staff have been furloughed and the hospital is in dire financial straits without its usual source of income. Obras has reached out to all of their supporters and mission groups in an appeal for financial contributions and other support to help them stay afloat through this difficult time.

Our donation of $5,000 will benefit the salaries of the OR and floor staff, physicians, and nurses for one month.
